Here is the backstory. 

I (Jason Page, https://www.instagram.com/jasondpage_lightpainter/) was invited to create some light painting portraits of the main stage artist at the Wango Tango Music Festival in Los Angles, California on June 1, 2019. 

I called on two of my Light Painting Brushes Brand https://lightpaintingbrushes.com Ambassadors to join me for the event. The crew consisted of

We all flew into LA and did set up on Friday. iHeart Radio was great to work with, they had a large fully blacked out booth set up for us to work in. Friday we set up and came up with concepts for each of the artist that we expected to see in the booth. We designed images around the latest content the artist had released and tested them using Melissa as our model, we designed and tested ideas for about 8 hours.  

 Saturday we were all excited and a little nervous knowing it was going to be a fast paced, hurry up and wait type of event. In the early afternoon we created Light Painting Portraits of a few of the VIP’s which gave us a good warm up for the main show. Around 4:30 we created our first Celebrity Light Painting Portrait of Madison Beer, her reaction to the image was great. It was such a good feeling to see how she was blown away by the image we created with her. It was a very high pressure event, we only got 1-2 minutes with each artist and we only had one take before they were ushered off to other backstage obligations before preforming. 

Overall we shot about 50 light painting portraits over a 6 hour period between VIP’s, Radio Contest Winners, and the Musicians. Some of the Celebrities we created light paintings of were Ally Brooke, Zedd, Ava Max, The Jonas Brothers and Halsey. We were really pleased with how it all worked out, especially for only getting one go to nail the shot!
